EDI: Looking Beyond the Figures
EDI: Looking Beyond the Figures
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Multidisciplinary conference followed by a collective publication organized by the Chaire de coopération Desjardins-Guy Bernier, in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Accounting and Reporting for Co-operatives (CEARC) and CIRIEC-Canada.

The Chaire de coopération Desjardins-Guy Bernier, in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Accounting and Reporting for Co-operatives (CEARC) and CIRIEC-Canada, is pleased to announce its third annual conference with the theme “EDI: Looking Beyond the Figures”.
Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is a cross-cutting issue in research in many disciplines. From quantifying, evaluating and measuring impacts, to studying causes and consequences, to the human aspect of EDI and the influence of new technological trends, EDI has never ceased to attract attention around the world, particularly in the current geopolitical context. This context, characterized by several uncertainties, can represent a threat or an opportunity for researchers, organizations and society in terms of EDI.
The Chair’s third annual conference is an opportunity to discuss this topical issue, considering EDI as a cross-cutting theme linking different disciplines in management science and elsewhere.
Authors are invited to submit 500-word proposals related to, but not limited to, themes such as:
- Reporting: EDI indicators, measurements, quantification and reporting;
- Organizations: Impact of EDI-friendly policies, practices and implementation success factors, barriers and/or challenges;
- Opportunities: Changes needed to successfully integrate EDI into organizational values;
- Organizational form: Are certain business forms, such as cooperatives, better placed to embrace EDI? Or do they have similar challenges as other organizational forms?;
- Standards: Achieving higher standards governance using EDI: the influence of key factors such as leadership and organizational culture;
- Context: Demonstrate the influence of the current geopolitical context on EDI issues.
This conference is intended to be inclusive and welcoming of different perspectives, with the aim of discussing EDI from a range of interdisciplinary research perspectives and disciplines.
The authors of selected papers will be invited to publish the full version of their contributions in a collective work and in the International Journal of Co-operative Accounting and Management (IJCAM).
Please send your 500-word proposals max to: chaire.coop@uqam.ca
Please note that the conference is bilingual and that the event is free for doctoral students.
