Michel Séguin

Michel Séguin is full professor in the department of human resources and organization in the School of Management at the University du Quebec a Montreal, and co-director of the Guy-Bernier Chair in Cooperative Business. He is also affiliated with Praxie, Ethique Strategique. Dr Seguin holds a master’s degree in economics and a doctorate in philosophy. His research activities focus primarily on the cooperative enterprise model, the ethical dimensions of management, and organizational governance. His research investigates several related areas such as organizational behavior, leadership, and theories of decision making.

In addition to his academic work, Dr Seguin also worked for more than twelve years for Mouvement Desjardins, Quebec’s cooperative financial institution. He currently sits on the board of directors of the Caisse Desjardins du Centre-est de Montréal and on the board of Desjardins Sécurité Financière where he serves as president of the ethics committee. He is the author of Gérer la dimension éthique en entreprise (Managing the Ethical Dimension in Business) published by CEC editions. Dr Seguin is also an instructor at Laval University’s Collège des Administrateurs de Sociétés (College for Business Administrators).
